Unauthorized blog posts

I am experiencing some strange activity on my wordpress blog. Apparently someone or something is creating unauthorized blog posts. They are somehow how creating a user name, categories and then submitting blog posts. I have the latest version of wordpress installed. The “anyone can register” box is unchecked. If anyone has any information that may help me solve this issue, I would appreciate it. Thank you in advance.
