unable to delete plugin

    Hi,

    I tried to delete a shopping cart plug in and when I went to delete, this kept on coming up,

    any idea?

    Warning: socket_last_error() expects parameter 1 to be resource, null given in /home/www/mywebsite.com/wordpress/wp-admin/includes/class-ftp-sockets.php on line 59

    What if you use FTP to just delete the wp-content/plugins/xyz folder where xyz is your plugin name.

    I tried that but it seems to still exist in the catorgories sidebar

    That could mean there’s code in your sidebar.php or a widget that needs to be removed.
