Types will work on any PHP Version that WordPress works as well:
https://wp-types.com/toolset-requirements/
1. Does the issue also persist with a WordPress Default Theme and NO Plugins BUT the Toolset Plugins?
If not, could you then re-enable the Plugins one after the other, and check the issue each time you enable a plugin?
Please report me when the issue comes back
It might also be due to the Theme.
Please do reactivate your Theme only after you are sure the issue isn’t coming form a 3rd Party Plugin.
2. Does it also persist when you download and install the latest Types version manually?
Thanks for the reply! I will need to work with my client on this. They are not available until this coming Friday, I will let you know of our results!

OK; please post here once you know more.
The site is still throwing the error after the following:
1. We deactivated all the plugins except Types – of course we turned them back on after the test
2. The site is built with a child theme based on Twenty Fifteen, so that shouldn’t be a problem. Twenty-Fifteen is updated.
3. We updated the core from WordPress 4.4 to WordPress 4.5.3
4. All plugins are up-to-date
5. We re-saved the defaults on the Custom Post Types Options
Please tell us where to go from here!
