I had the same issue on http://www.ngscholars.com but I didn’t notice until some of my readers brought it to my notice.

After doing a few searches, I came across the solution on the support forum here. You can get it at http://wordpress.org/support/topic/twitter-share-text-using-meta

That should fix it.
