• I have not nmoved to WordPress becuase of Trackbacks. The way ithey work with 3 other systems (Movable Type, dotText, CommunityServer) is thus:

    I link to another post, either on my own blog or on another blog. If that other post accepts trackbacks, it shows up. I don’t have to grab a separate “trackback URI”.

    If someone else posts a link to my post (using the permalink) then their post’s trackkback shows up on my blog.

    Simple as that. Any extra steps kind of defeats the purpose of making it easy for others to let you know that they have posted something linking to it.

    When WordPress figures that out and implements it, I’ll consider switching (I like it otherwise, and I feel much more conversant with PHP than with the Perl of MT)
