How do I do this?
I am running Social Sharing 5.5.8. I have just activated Facebook “like” in the plugin settings. When I click the like button a new browser window opens and then closes quickly but the like counter does not increase from zero.

You can do this if you have installed a cache plugin. If you have not, don’t bother about cache.
To look into the FB like issue, we need your website url.
No cache plugin loaded. My site is:

If you login w/ FB or request an account I will elevate you to admin.
We tried logging in and accessed couple of pages but we were logged out automatically.
Would you let us know the particular url where you have enabled the like button so that we can quickly look into the issue?

We just liked that page. Like button opened a small popup (with option to post comment) after clicking it. You can see it is showing count 1.
May be you should try clearing browser cache as mentioned at following link:

If it still doesn’t work try liking from a different Facebook account
Thanks. It was a browser problem for me. I have my Firefox setting set to “never” allow third-party cookies. Once I changed that setting to “From Visited” the facebook liking works.
