TinyMCE Freezing Browser

Ever since upgrading to WP 2.8 my editor is giving me major fits. I click on editor and when it loads all the text and scroll bar goes gray in the TinyMCE editor window. Then it changes so that you can edit it and then my entire browser freezes and I can’t do anything within the browser. After about 1.5 minutes (seriously) it unfreezes and I can edit but I go through it again if I change what file I want to edit. Never had this issue until 2.8. I’m using IE 7.
