I have a custom field “thumb” and it started not showing late last week. I’ve searched for fixes, and the few items that were similar to mine said to reinstalled the theme, try different theme, make changes to permalinks, nothing’s worked. The only thing that has happened between now and then was I updated the gallery and google analytical thing. Any suggestions?

  • It looks like a theme issue; you should bring the problem up at the theme forum … the author(s) will have a better sense of how the thumb function they wrote works.

Hopefully, in the next WP milestone, the post thumbnail trick will be native, and no more custom-field hacks required.

Actually – it was a security issue. I contacted HostGator (my webhoster) and they said that some of the rules were getting hit by mod security and they had to whitelist them. is fixed now, thanks!

ended up being a theme issue also – the latest theme didn’t support thumbs in the quick preview mode, so I went back to the version before this latest one and will use it for the time being.
    Thanks!
