Thumbnail over-scrolling

Hello, we have added vertical Thumbnails into our slider, but we have found that the scrolling on the thumbnail has gone too much, for example, when we scroll down, it shows too much space/gap between the top and the thumbnails, we wonder if we can change that, by any settings, or css/javascript coding?
