Theme suggestions please!

A while ago I pulled three different wordpress blogs into one cms routine.

There are many posts, and the themes I have trialled often look better when I find them on the wordpress themes site preview than when I actually activate them.

I am presently using…fifteen. Which is the nearest to what I desire I have found, which actually looks okay and the manner in which the posts expand into writing is pleasing to the eye.

I assume I can change the background image?

Can I add a menu for the categories?

I guess essentially, I am seeking a theme which offers a front page of tiled recent posts, as pictures, the way moving the cursor over the pictures brings up some words is definitely welcome.

Can anyone suggest a very easy to configure, and attractive theme which will suit my needs?

I have no qualms paying for the Right fit.

The grey area around the posts is a little bothersome on the present one. Can that be made transparent so the posts float on the background image?

any advice or suggestions are much appreciated.
