Theme suggestion or recommendation

Hi everyone!

Recently a client of mine asked me to update his wordpress blog into something like this:

http://www.luxigon.fr/ (which is also in wordpress)

The only experience i have with wordpress is just set up and alter basic templates… i do have a lot of experience in html/css. I would like to know if someone with more wordpress experience than myself can help me finding the best way to do this job… Either recommending me a template that will obtain a similar effect or by giving some guidelines to start this job from scratch.
