the archive contains plugins and is so that it maps the directory structure of wordpress. you should upload it to the wordpress dir, not in the theme dir.

Thank you Denis. When you say upload to the wordpress dir, do you mean wp-content? I’m trying to upload to various places and have still been unsuccessful. Is it the wp-admin folder? or in my public_html or public_ftp folders?

in the wp root, i.e upload the wp-content folder where a wp-content already exists

Thanks again Denis. It seems to have worked now.

Will that be a problem when I eventually have to update wordwpress? I assume the update will overrun the wp-content folder. When you update, do you just have to overwrite the folder again?

I’ll post any further questions to general support. Sorry for bothering you so much. Is there any kind of FAQ available for this theme?

    No problem. 🙂

Regarding the FAQ, yes and no. I maintain a FAQ, but I stick to “I am a hapless user, what should I do?” type of questions.

The reason is that most questions tend to be fairly unique and/or too complex for tech unsavvy Joe Hapless. Thus, they do not qualify as FAQ items and/or would turn my web site into a php tutorial. I neither have the time nor the interest in maintaining a php tutorial.

Plus, I think it would be mostly irrelevant. I mean, Joe Hapless doesn’t mind when he has no choice and can click a button to choose between 0 and 1, and doesn’t read php tutorials anyway. And the CMS package is built with him in mind.

Andrew Tinkerer, however, wants sqrt((pi^2)/5) and expects support on top of it. Answering him, as you can imagine, is extremely low on my priority list. Unless he happens to pay, but that is another topic entirely.

Denis, Love your theme! I’m a new WP user and just installed Semiologic CMS 3-column, but the tiles in the sidebars (left and right) don’t appear. Calendar was the only one that appeared automatically. I have several plug-in tiles (links, subscribe me, categories, pages) activated, but they’re not showing up. What am I missing?

are you using a caching plugin?

The only plugins I have are the ones that came packaged with Semiologic CMS.

looks like you’ve a plugin that is stopping the script at one point. try disabling the plugins one by one until you find which one (likely smart link). please send me a dump of your db if it is smart link, so I can try to debug it.

That worked. Both the Fuzzy Recent Posts and Fuzzy Recent Updates plugins cause the two columns on the left of the screen not to appear on my site. If any one of the two were activated, I lost the two left columns. thanks.

I posted this elsewhere, but was askedto post it here.

I can’t get the excerpts to display on my front page, archives, categories, and RSS feeds. The front page, RSS feeds and archives display the entire posts, while the categories display only the titles.

I have already made the change in the Admin area for the RSS to show only the summary, but this is not helping either.

I’ve read all over the forum and codex pages but the problem is I don’t know which files / files to place “the_excerpt” code into, as I’m really new to all this. I’d appreciate help, with possible reference to file names and line numbers in those files.

Isn’t it rather important for users to have some access to the loop for their own purposes of expanding the theme? I’m trying to get a del.icio.us bookmark-link plugin to work but it requires that some code be inserted into the loop, which I can’t find.

Probably should just use a different del.icio.us plugin
