Theme not working

    Hi folks,

    I have developed a theme locally and now have uploaded it to a test server but I have an issue.

    My theme works fine in the the local host but now that I have uploaded it it is all broken up.

    When I go to preview the theme it looks fine but when activated it doesn’t work?

    So far I have done a fresh install on the live server but no luck.

    Could someone help me out please?

    Hi Benjamin,

    To get help, you’ll need to post some more information. Right now, it’s impossible to know what’s going on.

    Are you getting any error messages with WP_Debug set to ‘true’?

    What does “doesn’t work” mean? Can you see the content? Do you have a white screen? Do you see some things but not others?

    Hi there,

    Thank you for your help. | am just about to check the WP_Debug to see if it is set to true.

    I created a theme with my localhost and everything has worked fine so far but no I have uploaded the theme to the themes directory and activated the theme and all of the html & css is not displaying correctly.

    What is odd is that when I preview the theme it looks how it should?

    Any ideas??

    Still nothing I have change the permission for the WP_Debug!

    benjamin,

    it might be a plugin problem. Try deactivating all your plugins and see if the site works. If it does, then start reactivating the plugins one by one until you figure out which one is causing the problem.

    Hey again mrwweb,

    You got me thinking about what it might be in a different direction and I have all the widgets active when I do not need them active. Now the site is work!! Phew!!

    Many many thanks to all who have helped here and on the other questions. I am really starting to fall in love with WordPress and all the knowledge that I gain I will share with other users on the forum here!
