[Theme: Espresso] adding graphic elements to section headers

I am new to WordPress, and pretty novice as a developer so forgive my ignorance in advance.

I am trying to customize the theme: Espresso I purchased. Here is a link to the site I am building. http://www.risethroughtheranks.com/

Basically the changes I was hoping to make to the template to look a bit more custom and liven up the design is:

– replace the grey line breaks that are on each side of the section titles (ex the title ‘TRUCK SCHEDULE’)with some sort of small repeating image I was going to design.

Alternatively I had considered replacing the entire header sections with designed header images but feared it will not work with the responsive / mobile site. (but dont know how to do that either or know if that would be a better option)

-lastly Id like to add a torn paper edge image to boarder the different sections (mainly the blue twitter slider) similar to this site http://kogibbq.com/

Any help would greatly be appreciated!!!
