Theme does not update

    Hi all,

    I am trying to update the Customizr theme version from 3.0.14 to 3.1.6, but whenever I try to update it, the website stops working, and the entire page goes blank. Can someone please suggest a solution to this?

    Are you running the latest version of WP, currently 3.8.1?

    There were some significant changes between those releases, so any Child Theme snippets will need reviewing.

    First thing I’d try is to look in your root and rename .htaccess to .htaccess.old. WP will then create a new blank .htaccess which often resolves this WSOD problem.

    What happens if you temporarily deactivate all your plugins and run with the Customizr theme (not your child theme). Does that work? If so, then switch to your child theme. I suspect you will get the white screen of death at this point. Could you try and report back?

    Hi, I tried doing what you said, but it still does not help. My screen goes blank as soon as I update my main theme.

    Have you tried updating your main theme with a different theme, eg twentyfourteen? If you get the same effect then the issue is your WP Install. Try reinstalling WP.
