The Permalink Lenght

I tried looking everywhere for hours before posting.

In my blog <?php echo the_permalink(); ?> shows the link like “Click Here For More Info: http://myblog.com/the-permalink/”

Is there a way to shortened the length to show like this:
“Click Here For More Info: http://myblog.com/the-perm…”

Just like you can choose the length for the excerpt?

And also the length for other things like the_title etc?
