  • check file permissions on the server. 🙂
Also check on the server, through your file manager (not WP) to see if the theme is in the right spot with the right files set to the right permissions.

    I’m having the same issue.

When you go into theme editor and select the theme maunally, you get the same error.

Therefore, I doubt it is an issue with read/write . I extracted to the same path as it is in the tarball.

    It’s for any file.

    It is at 777.

I had the same problem and never figured it out so… I moved on. But I know for sure it is not the file permissions that is prohibiting editing.

    Okay. I’ve figured it out!

In style.css change Theme Name: The Cabinet™ to Theme Name: The Cabinet.

NB it wont actually be a ™ in the CSS, but the ASCII equiv. You’ll figure it out.
