Text Widget

Whenever I try to add content to my Text widget (text, jpeg, gif) nothing shows up on the page itself and when I go back to the text box, none of the text or coding that I entered remains.

It all worked fine yesterday when I had a photo in the space. I deleted the jpeg to add a gif and ever since, I have not been able to use the gif, go back to the jpeg or even enter simple text.
