Text Formatting Not Working from Windows 7 Starter

I run a website where I write stories and post them for people to read.

I use a number of computers to write the stories as well as to post them, using the same base files shared between the computers. Most of the computers are Windows XP. One is Windows 7. One is Windows 7 Starter.

Microsoft Word is what I write in.

On my XP computers, I copy out of Word, paste into WordPress, and all of the text formatting (paragraph breaks, italics, and everything else) is there without any problem.

On my netbook, which is my only Windows 7 Starter machine, the formatting goes away. Paragraph breaks are now line breaks. Italics and everything else go away. On that machine, I have tried copying between Word and Wordpad, and all of the formatting remains, so it IS copying the formatting. But for whatever reason, WordPress isn’t reading it correctly.

Does anybody have a theory as to why this could be the case? Is there a fix for this I can try?
