    I think it’s a JavaScript issue.

Can you please try theme TwentyTwelve? If it works great. Then try deactivating your plugins one at time to figure out where the conflict is.

    Thanks Michael.

OK, it works fine on theme TwentyTwelve.

I deactivated my plugins one at a time and it seems the conflict is with Jetpack as it works fine when I completely deactivate Jetpack. I then reactivated Jetpack and deactivated each element of Jetpack one at a time until the only one left was Vaultpress (not an easy deactivation to test, as far as I know).

And so it seems the issue is a conflict with Vaultpress.

    Any fixes you know of?

Thanks so much for your time,

    Rebecca,

    Great job on the research.

I’m not sure of how Vaultpress is conflicting specifically. I’d need an opportunity to debug more thoroughly. It sounds like Vaultpress is loading stuff in the front-end that shouldn’t be.

In looking through your JavaScript errors, I see that optin.js has a DOM Element issue. That usually means that something like an id or class is misspelled.

Beyond that, I can’t help as it’s not my plugin.

    Hi Rebecca,

Feel free to drop us a line at http://vaultpress.com/contact/ and let us know what theme you want to use. We’ll be happy to take a look πŸ™‚

Thanks so much, Michael and Chris.

I’ve just re-run all tests twice in my EP Engine Staging environment (where I figured out how to deactivate Vaultpress to test) and it appears not to be a conflict with Vaultpress after all (sorry for the trouble, Chris!), but with the ‘Easy Recipe Plus’ Plugin and Jetpack ‘Gravatar Hovercards’ and ‘Notifications’.

If I disable all three of these, it works perfectly. Reactivating any one of these disables the rotation out again.

Could the Optin.js issue be part of this or is it a true conflict with the other 3 suspects, do you think?

    Thanks so much,
    Rebecca

I see testimonials rotating at http://vegansparkles.com/ now.

I’ve tried the latest Jetpack in dev mode on my local test site and am not having any troubles with rotation being stopped on the TwentyTwelve theme. I’ve activated all of the optionals.

I’ve further given Easy Recipe Plus a whirl with testimonials continuing to rotate.

Enabling ERP and Jetpack at the same time results in… rotating testimonials.

Please confirm, the theme TwentyTwelve with every plugin activated works fine for you? However, in your current theme, not?

    Thread Starter vegansparkles

    (@vegansparkles)

hhmmm, I can’t see them rotating on http://vegansparkles.com/
Could it be a timing issue? I don’t want to disable Easy Recipe on my live site because it’s an integral part of the site.

I have disabled ERP and the two Jetpack items mentioned on my Staging platform and the rotation is working:
    http://vegansparkles.staging.wpengine.com/

Yes, that is correct – TwentyTwelve works fine with all plugins activated, however in my current theme (http://themeforest.net/item/yield-creative-wordpress-theme/505480) I need to disable ERP and the 2 Jetpack items mentioned in order for rotation to work.

I could’ve sworn I saw the testimonials rotating earlier on http://vegansparkles.com/.

Hmm… there’s lots of JavaScript issues with your theme.

Are you doing anything with EU cookie compliance?

What about a HelloBar that’s referenced in hellobar-56152-80382-80382.js?

Do you have nrelate running? If not, you should disable the vegansparkles-com.js file from your theme.

    Your jquery.hoverIntent.js file isn’t a JavaScript file.

gprofiles.js, I think is the Gravatar hovercode file that’s not loading or firing off properly.

I suggest having your developer work through above. If that’s not possible, I’m available for paid support.

Ooh, unfortunately I’m very new to IT/code/site maintenance (and kinda’ just winging it) so I don’t know what EU cookie compliance is or why there would be lots of JavaScript issues with my theme.

I am running the HelloBar and nRelate plugins.

I’m in contact with the Theme Developer at the moment about a separate issue and a theme upgrade, so will definitely see if he can give me some guidance on the issue, or will come back to you for a quote.

Thanks so much for all your help, Michael. Much appreciated. πŸ™‚

Alrighty then, good luck with it all and let me know if you need further ideas.

By some miracle, it’s working now, Michael, WHOOHOO!

I decided to make all of my design (stylesheet) changes in the Theme files themselves and then I disabled the ‘Edit CSS’ Jetpack module.

And hey presto – we have lift-off!

Easy Recipe is running simultaneously, as is Jetpack ‘Notifications’.

I haven’t heard back from the Theme Developer as yet as to the other theme issues so I may well be back for your services but for now I am off to make the Testimonials Widget donation! πŸ™‚

    Have a beautiful day!
