Template Name: Archives

Excuse me if this has been answered elsewhere but i’ve thoroughly searched both the codex and this forum to no avail.

1.5 provides a template called “archives”:

wp-content/themes/default/archives.php

It would seem that this template would generate a page with the usual header and footer plus links to posts by category and date. However, I’m at a loss as the where i might find this page. The default theme does not link to it anywhere from the homepage or individual posting pages.

I tried to guess the URL: */archives/ and */archives.php but neither work.

I’m using the /%year%/%monthnum%/%day%/%postname%/ permalink structure and mod_rewrite seems to be working ok as all my permalinks are working.

So, anybody know where I’d find this archives page?
