• I would like to use gutemberg only for some users. For the basic user I would like you to use the classic editor. in settings I put the classic as standard, more when going in a new post opens with gutemberg enabled. How to make the classic by default work?

  • You can use a plugin to do this for you, like Disable Gutenberg, which has the options to enable it per post type or just for certain users.

Alternatively you can find some instructions on how to selectively enable Gutenberg at this blog post by the plugin Author.

I installed the plugin and deselected all options. left checked for the option to disable the editor for posts and still disable it or not on the entire site, including the pages that need to be activated.

Great. So if your issue is fixed, please mark this as resolved, thanks!

it didn’t work out, as I reported in my answer. It was to disable only for post. But it deactivates for the whole site.

You must have it configured incorrectly. It ticks some options by default, you would need to untick them. But if its broken, please open a support issue with the plugin developer (I use it myself on several hundred sites, and I know its not broken). I also provided you the link to implement the conditional yourself via your functions.php.

I repeat, leaving the plugin enabled to disable gutemberg just for posting, makes gutemberg stop working on the entire site
