Supercache problems

I am trying to install the wordpress supercache plugin on my blog hosted by asmallorange and I got this message.

advanced-cache.php does not exist
Create it by executing:
ln -s /home/melogkna/public_html/mysite.com/news/wp-content/plugins/wp-super-cache/wp-cache-phase1.php /home/melogkna/public_html/mysite.com/news/wp-content/advanced-cache.php
in your server
Or by copying /home/melogkna/public_html/mysite.com/news/wp-content/plugins/wp-super-cache/wp-cache-phase1.php to /home/melogkna/public_html/mysite.com/news/wp-content/advanced-cache.php.

Cannot continue… fix previous problems and retry.

I contacted them and they attempted to fix it but now I get this message.

Error: Configuration file missing and wp-content directory (/home/melogkna/public_html/mysite.com/news/wp-content) is not writable by the Web server.
Check its permissions.
Cannot continue… fix previous problems and retry.

Any idea how to remedy this problem? Thanks in advance for the help.
