I have configured Mail Chimp to send me an e-mail whenever a new user subscribes or unsubscribes from a list. I don’t seem to be getting subscribe e-mails when users subscribe using the Mail Chimp form on my WordPress site.

Is there something else I need to configure, or are e-mail subscribe notifications not supported with this plugin.

  • Same here… I made a test by adding one of my emails and nothing… everything seem to work fine, the widget indicate that the email was added to the list, but when I check in my Mailchimp list, nothing was added… I will have to disable it and test the Mailchimp plugin instead…

Yikes! I just did another couple of tests, and the names don’t get added, even though the widget says that the signup was successful. I initially thought the problem was that I just wasn’t getting the notifications, but now it looks like the signup doesn’t work at all!

Good news. It appears that the plug DOES work. It just takes a couple of minutes for new subscribers to show up in the Mail Chimp list after you have subscribed using the plugin.

However, e-mail notifications aren’t happening for each new subscriber. It’s not clear if this list setting applies to subscriptions that occur thru the Mailchimp API.

    Hi!

It seems like I kind have the same problems. When I run some tests by adding new email addresses, a message shows that it worked. The new subscribers will get a confirmation email but they don’t appear in the MailChimp list. I waited 24h to make sure that it wasn’t about not giving it enough time but still no new subscribers in the list.
If I try to subscribe again to the newsletter with an email address I already used, there is no error message telling me that the address has already subscribed to the newsletter.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks

    Hey there,

It’s not working for me either… But I’m trying to integrate MailChimp for WP with Contact Form 7… I’ve read on a bunch of forums that all you need to input is the “checkbox” into Contact Form 7 (which I have) and it should work! But no luck…

Anyone have any insight on this? Thanks in advance.

    Hi all,

If the plugin shows a success message then the sign-up did succeed 100%. The only exception would be when you have selected multiple MailChimp lists to subscribe to. If one list fails but the other one succeeds, then the plugin will still show the success message.

Are you using double opt-in (strongly recommended)? If not, it could be that you’re simply overlooking the email addresses as they’re viewed as “imports” by MailChimp.

Also, please allow a few minutes to properly reflect the changes made to your lists.

@sfakhrabady, to add a sign-up checkbox to your Contact Form 7 forms you can use the following code in your CF7 mark-up:

    [mc4wp_checkbox "Label text"]

Please make sure your email only requires an EMAIL and (optionally) NAME fields or you’ll have to add more fields to your CF7 form for this to work.

    Hope that helps!

I am having the same problem. I complete the Mailchimp for WordPress Lite 2.1.5 form, the page redirects without any errors, but the information doesn’t make it to my MC list. I also do not get a confirmation email when I use double opt-in.

I deactivated Gravity Forms 1.8.16.3, WishList Member 2.80.2119, WooCommerce 2.2.6, and WooCommerce WishList Member Integration 2.1.5, but still nothing makes it to my MC list.

Even though I have deleted the test e-mail address from my MC list, could the fact that I had used the text e-mail address before cause a problem?

If you deleted the email address then that shouldn’t cause any problems. If it was still on the list, the plugin will show the “already subscribed” message.

If you’re using double opt-in, please allow a few minutes (up to an hour in very rare cases) for the confirmation email to arrive.

Please let me know if you still haven’t received an email in an hour or so, that would mean something very weird is going on.

I got a clarification from Mailchimp on why I am not receiving e-mail notifications when someone subscribes using this plugin.

According to Mailchimp, the e-mail notifications are only sent to the list owner if a person signs up using the double opt-in process. If the person subscribed using an application or plugin that uses the Mailchimp API, without going thru the double opt=in process, they consider this identical to importing a name into the list, which would not trigger a subscription e-mail to the list owner.

Other than that, the plugin seems to be working fine. It does typically take a couple of minutes however, for subscribers to become visible in the Mailchimp mailing list after the subscription has been completed.

I am using this plugin. I have uncheck the double opt-in option.

I want the single opt-in only so i have selected checked single opt-in.
But when i am using single opt-in, the user who will subscribe there not getting welcome email.

If i use double opt-in than the user is getting mail.

But with single opt-in, they are not receiving email so please anyone help out for this.
