I’ve just reinstalled NGG gallery and managed to move database from another site. But the stylesheets aren’t there! I’ve searched and found information to create the missing folder and the files – I am ok with that – but I do not want to write the whole stylesheet from scratch. Could someone please just copy and paste the stylesheets that NGG gallery should have installed on my ftp? 🙂

@jenoff – Have you tried manually re-installing the plugin and over-writing all of the existing files and folder?

That should accomplish the same thing if you use a freshly downloaded copy of the plugin.

    Thanks!

    Thank you for answering! 🙂
No, I have not tried that since I do not want to do any changes to the database after all the work I have done. I have used the plugin since 2007, it stopped working a while ago and I am happy I was able to rescue the old database and “kind of” made it work with the new version of the plugin. I honestly don’t want to overwrite any files at this moment, I just want the css-code, should not be impossible to get hold of that? 🙂

@jenoff – Manually re-installing the plugin via FTP over-writing the existing files is almost identical to actually updating the plugin via WordPress, the real difference is that WordPress first removes all of the plugin files and then loads the most recent onto your site. This will not do anything to your database.

If you are concerned with the “over-write” part of the re-installation then theoretically it is possible to use FTP to manually re-install the plugin to replace the missing files by simply not over-writing the existing installation. It is just better to replace everything when there is a possibility something is missing as this may indicate something else is also not current or correct.

I have not updated the plugin. I just installed wordpress four days ago on a different site and installed the plugin from scratch. I have downloaded the plugin and looked at it on my computer, the folder with stylesheets is not there (should it be? or does these files create while installing?).

After I installed the plugin (on a different site then the one that broke a while ago) I copied an old database and made it work with the new installation of the plugin. I do not want to risk that that writes over so I have to do that again.

I have too much to lose just to try this, in that case the style is not THAT important to me and I guess I could live with how it looks right now. 🙂

@jenoff – The /ngg_styles/ folder and its nggallery.css would be created if you used the option under Gallery > Other Options > Style, but if you wrote your stylesheet details into the same file it should appear under the same option as well.
