Stripping formatting

Is there STILL no way of stopping wordpress imposing it’s ridiculous rules about formatting? I need to be able to allow my clients to put in what they want

I can’t use TinyMCEadvanced because it adds <p> tags to everything and therefore breaks Oembed – another feature I need.

If anyone knows if there is now a way to stop wordpress stripping line breaks and paragraph tags without TinyMCE Advanced, I would really appreciate it as I can’t find anything anywhere
