stop wp-admin from redirection to subfolder

So I just installed wordpress in a folder (lets call that folder wordpress) and I have the site displaying in the root. My intention was to hide the contents of wordpress to make it a little harder for hackers.
Everything is working great except:
If I go to mysite.com/wp-admin I get redirected to mysite.com/wordpress/wp-admin .
Can anyone tell me how to stop it from redirecting. So it is alittle bit harder to figure out where all the wordpress files are at?
