Still Sync Problems

    Katie,

    I’m still struggling with synching my huge database. I got results which aren’t reflecting the changes of my database. I suspected that it had to do with German umlaute in the name of my collection. So I changed all my collection names but it didn’t help. (Re-)Import helped but not always and I is a very tedious task for every small change to re-import a huge database.

    To make the problems reproducible I started a complete new zotero account and so I can see exactly was is happening in my installation:

    1. Deleted tags are not deleted with the sync. But re-import does help.
    2. ZotPress shows me a collections which I do not have anymore. Here re-import does not help!

      Perhaps a useful observation: I created a zotero search collection and saved it. The stray folder has exactly the items which appeared in my saved search (and were copied to a collection a I created and worked on for some time) Later I have changed the search criteria for my saved search.

    3. German characters do not display correctly in the browse panel. This has no functional impacts, it’s only an aesthetic issue.

    I’m looking into these issues on my end. 1 and 2 shouldn’t be happening if there are no other items with that tag, and you’ve moved the collection to the trash (not just deleted it with that keyboard button, which just removes it from that location, but doesn’t remove it from your library).     1. Tags: Sorry for not expressing me correctly: I did some reorganisation of my Zotero library. When I talked about deleted tags I meant that I deleted the tag not just on some data entries but in the whole library via the tag panel. So there were no entries with this tag anymore but the entries remained in the library.
    2. Collections: I deleted the collection from the library view and emptied the trash as well.

    On import, Zotpress empties every data table, so I don’t think the recurring collection is as a result of this plugin. I’m curious about the tags and will have to take a closer look. Feel free to contact me.
