• Still can’t get Blogger to import right. I’m now 95% sure my file path and archive file path are correct. (public_html). I know this because I tried importing it but forgot to change the template at first, and it actually did write to my server (but with the blogger template in place, which I guess won’t work if you run the import script). I went back in and changed the blogger template to the one indicated in the Wiki – and now it won’t publish to my ftp. It just keeps saying “publishing status…0%” , forever.
My Blogger blog has about 200 posts , and it’s looking like I’m going to have to copy & paste each one manually into WP, one at a time. This is hugely time-consuming. Does anybody have any ideas? I’m really at a loss.

  • I have the same problem. looking for answers

    What exactly is going wrong?
If you like I can help you with getting this work. Leave me a note here, with whatever you have done/tried so far, and I will try to help you.
Are your ftp username and password correct? Do you have an ftp user account setup with your host?

I followed the procedures to the best of my understanding.
I do have an FTP account enabled. I am able to use an FTP program. That is how I uploaded WP. The username and password are correct.
However, as the previous query stated, when I do the “publish” from Blogger, it begins cycling like it is uploading then restarts back to 0% progress.
It is apparently accessing the FTP account, because one attempt failed due to my FTP program still accessing the account when I began the “publish” attempt. NO “wordpress.php” or archival filenames appear.
I have tried various permutations of the pathnames for the ftp parameters in Blogger.
    Any help is appreciated.

    The pathname should be relative.
In fact, you could even contact blogger and see if there is a problem they can help you out with.

I posted a request for help to Blogger. We’ll see how that goes over…
When you say pathnames should be relative:
    My ftp account is “mostlycajun.com”
I want to put the blog in “mostlycajun.com/wordpress/”
So is the ftp path supposed to be “wordpress/” ?
How about the archive path? I want the archives in the /wordpress/ directory also.
There’s gotta be someting simple I’m trying to make too complicated…

There is a blogger faq entry for that :
    http://help.blogger.com/bin/answer.py?answer=92
    Hope that helps.
So yours should be “htdocs/wordpress/” or some such.

Thanks. I tried various combinations of the advice given in that FAQ, with still no good result. I am waiting to see what blogger has to say. I have over 500 posts to import, and I certainly do not wish to do that by cut and paste.
