Static home page problems

I’m having trouble setting a page to be a static home page.

I’ve created two pages: Home and Blog and published them.

In Settings > Reading I’ve selected ‘Static Page’ and selected Home as the front page and Blog as the posts page.

When I go to the site, instead of seeing my static page, I see the latest posts. The HOME menu button also takes me to the latest posts:

http://start-model-engineering.co.uk/

However, if I type the home page URL in the browser, I can see the home page is there:

http://start-model-engineering.co.uk/home/

I would be most grateful for any help.
