• Hey Folks,

John here, WordPress noob, and for the most part, really rolling along nicely (I’m a brain-dead php guy)!

There is probably something fundamental that I’m doing wrong here, but I’ll describe it as best I can.

I have a semi-static home page set at http://www.thebmwf650.com, and created a “home.php” template for the front page adapted from page.php. The idea is to have static site description content along with “recent post” excerpts and thumbnails below (not just the title), so i created the page “The BMW F650”, added the content, and set it to the “home” template, and set it to be the static front page. Yet edits to the template don’t seem to affect this page.

Anyways, that’s the primary question. the next question is I have a home.php page that I set to the “Home” template, it seems to reflect changes to the template, it is not an editable page, and does not show up in the page list?? There is a very fundamental WP lesson here about home pages here than I’m missing, but I’m not sure what it is.

Many thanks in advance for you advice. code is below if you wanna look…
