• I’m using the theme Simone, but have tried the twenty-something-themes too.

I’m wonder if I’ve misunderstood the function hence English is not my native tongue, or if I just do something wrong. I read the codex Creating a Static Front Page and I thought my front page options and how tho choose them in “Front page displays”, are as follows:

    1. Blog: Choose “Your latest posts”
    2. Static Front Page: Assign the “Front page” to Home, leave “Posts page” empty.
    3. Static Front Page Plus Blog: Assign the “Front page” to Home, and the “Posts page” to Blog.
    4. Dynamic Front Page, available only in some themes.

Instead of getting the results I expect, this is what happens:

    A. Front page Home, Posts page empty = the front page only consists of the Home content.
    B. Front page empty, Posts page Blog = the page page shows excerpt of my newest posts
    C. Front page Home, Post page Blog = as A

I expected C to show me first the content of Home, then the excerpt of the newest posts.

Have I misunderstood how this is supposed to work or have I understood how it is supposed to work, but have done something wrong since I cannot combine static home content and dynamic posts listening?

    Thank you for any input.
