    Hi Support,
We are trying to make our site completely SSL. We have purchased our certificate and ready to launch. Upon testing with your plugin, we notice that all videos will stop working when we enable SSL (HTTPS). I sent an email to support but not sure if it went through, your site was giving us a “504” error. Please let me know if there is a fix for HTTPS and your video output? Thank you

We are currently working on getting SSL certificates for all our domains and backend services. It requires installing SSL on a large number of systems, but we’re in the process of getting this done.

I will try to post here again once the work is done to let you know when we’re officially supporting SSL on GrabPress. We needed to do this for WordPress.com VIP, so that was the trigger that made us finally decide to prioritize this. Before that, I think we only had one or two people requesting it.

Note – the support page on grab-media.com was buggy for a few days due to unrelated system updates, but it should be working fine now.

Sounds good support, thanks for the update.

    Any update on this issue?

We have taken several steps to offer SSL support in GrabPress. This required getting SSL certificates on dozens of systems and apps that support our video syndication platform, not just on our GrabPress systems – and testing our platform end-to-end. The good news is, we’re very close to releasing GrabPress 3.0 (we were originally planning a 2.4.1 release, but we’re skipping right to 3.0), and this will offer SSL support for everyone.

This was also a requirement for WordPress.com and supporting GrabPress in the WordPress VIP environment (and all our publishers who need SSL support), so it’s a win-win for all of us. I don’t have a hard release date to give you, but I can tell you that plan to have GrabPress 3.0 tested and ready to release in January 2015. It will likely take longer for GrabPress 3.0 to go through the VIP approval process (wordpress.com), but that will not hold up the release to the WordPress.org community. I hope that helps, and thanks for your patience.

We have full SSL support with GrabPress now, as of version 3.0.3. Please let us know if you have any further questions on this topic. I’ll mark this resolved for now, as our QA team has done extensive testing of GrabPress over SSL, and we’ve confirmed that all the applications and systems in our video platform are now HTTPS compatible.
