split page content

Hello, I’m using pods plugin to create custom type post, I made a template, and populated it creating a php function and calling it from the template.
What I need now is another page, related to the same page, so I can upload a serie of photos, like a gallery, I will insert a lot of photos so it must be a different page. I thought the simplest way would be spliting the content with <!–nextpage–> and insert the photos into the next page, but I can’t figure out how to insert the <!–nextpage–>. I’m not sure if that’s the best way to do it, but if I could create more than one page when pressing publish it would do it as well for me. Please help!

does the <!–nextpage–> shortcut need any custom configuration to work on custom post types, or specific themes ?
