    Hi Guys,

The Square for Woocommerce plugin is still loading on every single page. It also loads JS files in the header and footer of the site rather than just one or the other.

06/05/2020 Latest version is installed, cache has been emptied and checked incognito. Still loads on every page including the CSS specifically for the Stripe checkout box!

The Square JS and CSS only needs to load on the Checkout page not every page.

Paypal and Stripe woocommerce plugins do not have this problem. Sites running the Square WooCommerce plugin will notice a poor pagespeed score and a noticeably longer load time than when other payment systems are installed.

I would like to raise a ticket with the developer as this should be an easy fix. I have attempted to use an mu-plugin to remove square from all pages except the checkout but this breaks it. So please can the developers step in and fix the problem!!

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

It should say SQUARE checkout box not Stripe. Sorry Typo.

The problem is with the Square Payments plugin as above.

    Hi there @thomasjarvisdesign,

    Thank you for reaching out!

I confirmed that I see the exact same behavior on my test site and I reported it to our developers as a bug.

They will look into including a fix for this issue to one of the next releases. The best way to monitor it is to keep an eye on the plugin’s changelog here: https://wordpress.org/plugins/woocommerce-square/#developers

Meanwhile, I’m going to mark this as resolved – if you have any further questions about Square, you can start a new thread.

Enjoy the rest of your day and stay safe!

    Hi Elvira,

Thank you for this. I really appreciate it.

I have a second site under development which will use Square as well. Looking forward to the update.

    Hi Elvira,

Please mark this post as NOT resolved.

In the latest version Square CSS and JS still loads on all pages.

Please add this to the bug list for the developer to fix.

    Hi there @thomasjarvisdesign,

This particular fix wasn’t included to 2.1.6 but it’s still logged for our developers. I raised its priority, so hopefully, it will be fixed in the next one.

We don’t keep forum threads open when a bug is already reported so please keep an eye on the changelog file.

    Cheers!
