sort categories

    How can I sort categories? I’ve checked around and can’t find an answer I can understand. What I want would be like this:

    sports
    football
    swimming
    basketball
    crafts
    knitting

    My post did not display right. I want the categories to look like this:

    sports
    >>football
    >>swimming
    >> basketball
    crafts
    >>knitting
