Smushit plugin causing HTTP error

Hello,

I’ve found several old topics on this:

The issues were resolved with a plugin update. It seems to be happening again as images were uploading fine until yesterday when I started to get HTTP errors. By the evening, I was consistently getting HTTP errors and so I had deactive the plugin, which is less than ideal!

Any idea when it will be fixed?

Alternatively are there any good alternative plugins out there?
