Slideshow display issues

Hi, I just installed this plugin and I would like the slideshow to show as soon as the page loads. I have selected the appropriate option, but when the page first loads one picture shows quickly then goes away, then there is a 6 second space of nothing by white space before the actual photos begin showing in the slideshow. As it rotates through, there is always the 6 second space of white space before it starts over again. How can I get rid of this?

Also, is there a way for me to show a picture title or caption above or below each picture as it is scrolling through the slideshow?

Please let me know if there are fixes for these issues, I am trying to use this plugin as my portfolio for websites and graphics created. Thanks.
