any idea how i can contact someone at wordpress
WordPress is free, open source, software. There is no support team or anyone you can contact via email. Nor does wordpress.org store your email address (apart from the address used on this forum) or have any connection your self-hosted site. You have to fix this yourself. Try these resources:

thanks – i have read the codex and my php shows the password as i am entering it. The problem is my login is not working and when I click to have my password resent to me it says that my email does not exist as though I have not set up a wordpress account.
I am a novice so maybe I am not understanding something, but my ftp looks like it is holding everything it should be, and the password is not the problem – my associated email address is preventing me from login into my admin page, which maybe would explain why my site has disappeared.
any other thoughts?
help?
the same thing has happened to me as of this morning, site isn’t up and I can’t even access my admin page to try to login. I use hostgator for hosting, what are you using?
i use bravenet.
anyone else having the same problem I wonder?
@erikth43: The oriogjnal poster is not using Hostgator. It is considered impolite to interrupt another poster’s thread, so please post a new topic.
@cmclean:
my php shows the password as i am entering it.
That would be difficult – to say the least. The password is obscured in the browser and is one-way encrypted in the database. So I’m not sure what you are seeing when you type but I do know that it’s not your login password.
my associated email address is preventing me from login into my admin page
WordPress doesn’t use your email address as part of your login. It uses your user name and a password. That’s all.
esmi i am happy to hear someone having the same problem and if we can find common symptoms it can only help.
I don’t think you are understanding the problem anyway esmi. the php document from my ftp shows the password. it is the same one i am typing. when i try to reset my password through wp, it allows me a place to enter my email address but then says
ERROR: There is no registered user with that email address
It’s a completely different issue, so it needs to be a new topic.
Why are you trying to use your FTP password to login to WordPress?
Did you actually read & try the solutions suggested in links 2 & 3 above?
Actually sounds like exactly the same issue.
thanks esmi, you are not understanding. I’ll see if someone else offers a suggestion.

No it isn’t. Your site has not disappeared. It is perfectly viewable (looks like a fresh install) on http://www.clintmclean.com/ using Twenty Eleven. You have a login problem – not a site problem.
if you look at my cached site you will see it is an ANAN theme and it is the only one i have ever had active.
you don’t seem to have any advice to solve the issue so thanks for trying but at this point you seem to want to bicker and I’d rather not.
It’s ok to just say you don’t know how to fix the problem.
Looking at a cached (and now non-existent) site is of no use. Empty your browser cache – then view your site and you will see what the rest of us can see. That’s the only site we can troubleshoot. We cannot troubleshoot a site that apparently no longer exists. No one can.
Sign into your host account. Check the database and see what email is associated with your user name. You can make corrections as needed.
You can also reset your password at the same time if you wish.
Hi Kmessinger, Thanks.
The name and email is of someone i have never heard of before.
i changed the info and have logged into wordpress admin now.
When i reactivated my ANAN theme though, it is blank and looks like I need to start over again. If all my files are on my ftp, is there a way to connect the files on the ftp to the admin ANAN so i won’t have to redo it all? Anybody know?
I also had some customization done which I don’t want to lose.
thanks

I spent about 6 hours this weekend dealing with my webhost company because my blog had vanished. The data base disappeared and even though all the files were in the administration section of their server, the data base was gone. Eventually they located it and I had to go into the MYSEQL administration to get all the info for accessing the back up data base and getting it activated. I am now rebuilding the blog because none of the files that are on their server show up in the blog. Hope this helps.
