site doesn’t work with polylong active

I’ve installed Polylang for our site a few months ago and experienced no issues. Suddenly the site’s loading times were awful and after a certain point it just wouldn’t load. We did some investigating and were told that Polylang is the cause, when removing the plugin the site was back to normal. We are using Jupiter X as our theme and we desperately need a multilingual website. What could we do to fix this?
