Sidebars disappeared after 3.9
-
Hi,
My sidebar widgetes and footer widgets has disappeared after the upgrade to 3.9
Instead I get an error message in the Widget window for each sidebar stating that “the sidebar is inactive now – pse remove the widget to fully remove the sidebar” – which is NOT what I want.Is this a bug or a feature 🙂
Kind regards from Denmark

The upgrade deleted all my widgets – I updated end of last week, went on vacation and now back to work and all widgets are GONE! I am getting NO help in the WordPress forums – no themes have been updated, all cache has been deleted (I’ve refreshed) 3.9 wiped my “home page” and info clean to the extent that I’m having to completely redo it all! Would love to go back in time and undo the upgrade. Anyone know how to revert?
I have tried to redo all, and widgets can be placed on the pages in the sidebar in Admin mode – but as soon as I look at the front end, they are gone.
And when I switch back to Admin mode they appear as “Inactive sidebars”.
This is a SERIOUS bug, that needs to be adressed ASAP. The amount of work involved in getting the site running smoothly again is major!
Are there any ways to roll back from V 3.9 to 3.8? I’m very, very tempted…
Ended up redoing widgets and did a screen shot in case this happens again. Mine is now working, just now sure what will happen with next upgrade but they said 3.9.1 fixes the widget bug.
i am here again trying to get answers on this…everytime i put widgets they disappear or go admin / not in use….i have even posted something here in support and nothing. what is going on. i have tried to uninstall themess, plugins…help someone
