    Hello all,

I am new to UM so please forgive any newbie questions.

How do I go about showing/hiding a module based on the user role? For example, I have a button module on a page that should only be seen by users with a particular user role.

Also, is there a way to capture attributes from the URL and store that data in a hidden field in the registration form? This info will be used to define the user role at registration.

    Thank you all in advance.

    Glen

I believe I have worked out the URL attributes but I am still looking for a way to hide/show buttons based on the user role and I am looking for a way to hide a row based on the user status (logged in or not).

    Hi @beacondigital

What module and URL attributes are you referring to? Could you please provide a screenshot?

    Good morning,

    Thank you for your response.

I haven’t built the site to that point yet so I can’t provide a screen grab but I will need to be able to turn on and off button modules, and potentially rows, within the front end based on the access level of the user. For reference the site is built on the Divi Theme from Elegant Themes.

For the URL attributes, I want to pass a predetermined access level with the invitation being set out to the invitees. For example, if the invitee is to have basic access, we would send the invite link as https://www.url.com/?access=basic (not the real URL of course) but if the invitee is to have advanced access, we would send the invite link as https://www.url.com/?access=advanced. I believe I have this working now using plugins but if there is a more direct approach, I would be interested in knowing more.

    Thanks again.

    Hi @beacondigital

It is still not that clear. Do you want the UM Register forms auto-populated via URL parameters?

Yes, that is correct. Having the auto-populated field would be ideal, but if that’s not possible it’s not a deal breaker.

    Hi @beacondigital

Please see this tutorial that allows you to populate the Register fields via URL.
