Hi GlenmereSchool,
I’ll add in an option to allow HD Quiz to be accessible to the author user in the next version. In the next version, there will be a settig in the HD Quiz options to enable this.
What options do you NOT want them to have?
Basically, I’d just like a standard author, with access to HD quiz.
The roles plugin I installed gave me about 70 options to allow or deny various settings e.g. edit others posts. After playing around with these, I was able to allow my authors to access HD quiz, but the latest update broke this. Now, I am only able to allow access to HD quiz if I enable other settings which give them access to things I don’t want e.g. the settings side bar options on the dashboard.
So an official way to allow HD quiz for authors would be good! Thank you.
I understand,
Keep your eye out for the next version (probably this weekend). It will have the option you need to allow access to authors.
Hello GlenmereSchool,
Just thought I’d give you some good news.
1) those warnings should disappear for you on your next update.
2) I have added in the new permissions settings. Once I release the next update (within the next 24 hours), please check the HD Quiz About / Options page and enable the “Allow Authors Role Access” settings. This will allow users with the “author” account to create and edit questions. This will be a brand new feature, so there may be some permission-based bugs that crop up, but if any do, they will be very easy to track and fix.
Just came here to say thank you.
The PHP warnings have gone it seems and my ‘author’ role users are able to access HD Quiz in the sidebar, now I’ve enabled the option. Thank you so much for the great support.
Excellent, glad the new updates are working for you 🙂
If it’s not too much trouble, I would appreciate it if you could leave a review here: https://wordpress.org/support/plugin/hd-quiz/reviews/
All the best,
