• Should I use FTPS when adding automatically?

    Like a plugin for example

From what I know: FTP = dangerous – anyone listening into your traffic can get the username and password
(Also know that the chances of someone doing this are slim)

Regardless: FTPS – is this recommended?

if so: why would FTP be given there as an option??
(Is it because FTPS is not available for all hosters?)

    Thanks

    Omar

I would always use FTPS where available, but as you guessed, not all hosts allow it. I don’t know why.

I want to use FTPS (SSH) to install an update on the Twenty-ten theme, but my choices are FTP and FTPS (SSL) but my Service Provider tells me I can only use FTPS (ssh). I’ve been unable to install the update, even though the original installation worked fine. What’s up?
