Settings > Reading — Static page won't apply..

Hello all,

I just purchased a theme from Envato, and figured I’d throw a post here while waiting (4 hours now) for HighGrade support to get back to me. The theme is Tavern by HighGrade.

I can’t figure out how to set a Static Page as our homepage. I’ve tried setting it in the options through the reading settings… no luck. Instead, the blog posts and side-bar menu show up. I was able to track the side-bar menu down to some widgets, and remove them on a test site: tavern.mygpfulfillment.com, but on our production site: ravailas.mygpfulfillment.com I’ve not done that yet. How can I fix this and make it a truly static page?

So far I’ve tried disabling all plugins. No luck. I also tried re-applying the twenty sixteen theme, and it does seem to let me assign a static page.

Any idears?
