Setting Up Win XP Apache Server

I am setting up WordPress on my Windows XP Pro server. This is not a server hosted elsewhere, but it is a box that I own and control. I have Apache 2.2.3 running successfully with PHP 5.1.6. I have installed MySQL 5.0.26, don’t really know if it is working since I am a DB novice. WordPress certainly doesn’t think I have MySQL installed, but maybe that’s because I haven’t created a database or set the path right.

Is there a resource for setting up WordPress on your own server? If not, I’d appreciate any tips like how to setup the config file for this situation. Thanks.
