This is probably a really dumb question, but I’ve been scouring your documentation and can’t figure it out.

The plugin advertises that you can “Allow existing subscribers to update their MailChimp profile information.”

I’d like to display a form that shows what groups a user is subscribed to (much like the native mailchimp “Update Profile” page). Is this what the plugin does? If so, where do I go to set that page up?
If I’m misunderstanding the information, please let me know.

    Thanks in advance!

    Hi @alexrenn,

Our plugin does allow existing subscribers to update their MailChimp profile information but not in the way you described. The updating of the user’s profile is all done via an email from MailChimp.

Depending on your opt-in settings, if an already subscribed user tries to subscribe again, they will see a message saying “You’re already subscribed. Click here to update your profile.” By clicking the link, they will be sent an email and can update their profile via this email.

Here is a short article explaining the opt-in settings: https://yikesplugins.com/support/knowledge-base/opt-in-settings/.

    Does that make sense?

    Let me know,
    Kevin.

Ah. As I was typing the request, I wondered if that was what you meant by that bullet point.

Thanks for clarifying, and thanks for sharing that article. Very helpful.
I found this article pretty helpful, as well: http://kb.mailchimp.com/lists/signup-forms/how-subscribers-can-update-their-profiles

    Really love your plugin!

    Hi @alexrenn,

First, I forgot to mention that subscribers can update their information using the Easy Forms opt-in form but only if you have the corresponding options set (i.e. allow profile updates, do not send email). This is somewhat vulnerable though because anyone with a subscribed user’s email address can then update their profile.

Second, the way our update-user-information email works is very similar to MailChimp’s so that article is nice.

I’m glad you’re enjoying the plugin!

    Kevin.
