SEO description not updating

    Hey, how are you?

    I’m working on the website [redundant link redacted], I’ve set the Homepage SEO desceription to:

    SBI Lease Plans offers UK-wide Land Registry compliant plans for both residential and commercial properties. Expert knowledge and great customer care guaranteed.

    But for some reason, if you google sbi lease plans it still shows the old one, which reads:

    At SBI Lease Plans we offer a full range of Land Registry compliant plans, making sure you have the correct plan for the land registry or for your lease. Our ...

    This has been an ongoing issue for months. I’m currently using Rank Maths SEO, but I’ve tried deleting the plugin and installing others like All in One SEO but it just won’t update the snippets description. I’ve cleared cache, checked on multiple devices, resubmitted it for Google Search Console indexing and left it for weeks.. Nothing I try updates it.

    What can be causing this?

    I would recommend you contact the support of your preferred SEO plugin. This is because they implement the code you mentioned into your website so that Google can read it. WordPress cannot intervene here.

    Incidentally, your question would be just as well addressed in a Google forum. The Google bot reads out the meta description as soon as it calls up the page again and reads it in. Wildly changing the SEO plugins does not help, as this does not influence the Google Bot. Keep in mind that the meta description is only a recommendation to Google. Depending on the search term used and the user profile, Google may display other texts of the page in the search results that are more suitable from Google’s point of view.
