searchform.php not returning proper results

    A problem has appeared where posts do not show up in search results when it is obvious that they are in the database.

    I was searching for the keyword of an article (which was in the headline, body of the post as well as one of the post’s tags) and the article I was looking for did not show up.

    Does anyone have any ideas about why this might be happening?

    I’ve narrowed the problem down a bit – It seems that only certain categories are not showing up in search results.

    For example – posts that are only tagged with “Politics” do not show up in search results

    If I add the category “News” to the post – then the search function finds the post.

    Any ideas why some categories are being excluded from search?
