I would like to modify my WordPress blog so that commentators have their own searchable profiles; all their comments are collected under registered usernames.
^^ It allows any registered member to easily track down their old material from previous debates. I’m guessing there is some kind of plugin already available does this.
This forum is not running on WordPress, it’s running on bbPress.
If you want to make a forum and hook it into a WordPress system, then look closely at bbPress, it can replace the comments section of the blog with something more like a forum, which will do the sorts of things you want it to do.
